Taiwanese man killed in WA road crash

A 27-year-old Taiwanese man has been killed after losing control of his car at Brookton in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region.

Police said the man and two passengers were travelling west on the Brookton Corrigin Road when he lost control on a bend and crashed into trees at about 5pm (WST) on Saturday.

The driver died at the scene and is the first road fatality in WA for the Christmas holiday period.

A 25-year-old male passenger had to be cut free from the car and was flown by rescue helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition.

A backseat passenger was taken to Narrogin Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
