The Syrian government forces managed to purge a number of militants of Qatari, Jordanian, Saudi, Libyan and Egyptian nationalities on Thursday, the official SANA news agency said.
According to military sources, the operations were carried out in several areas including al-Balad, al-Jumrok, al-Naserieh, al-Shajara.
The sources also said that the Syrian forces dismantled 13 explosive devices planted by the militants in Dara’a countryside.
Similar operations were conducted in al-Qariateen town in the western province of Homs, and Syrian soldiers found several rockets with their launching pad, computers, and satellite transmitters.
On Tuesday, Syrian troops killed several militants, including wanted terrorists from the so-called al-Tawhid Brigade, in al-Khalidieh neighborhood of Homs.
On the same day, another Army unit clashed with a number of militants near a sports club in al-Rastan city, killing a number of terrorists, among them militant leader Obeid Hassan Obeid, nicknamed Abi Allaith.
Moreover, a number of militants were killed and injured in al-Hula area when their hideouts were targeted in the villages of al-Hosn and al-Taybieh al-Gharbieh on Tuesday.
The Syria crisis began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of soldiers and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
Damascus says the West and its regional allies, such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, are supporting the militants.
