The conference of over 200 Syrian more or less opposition figures in the Egyptian capital showed clearly how deeply divided and disunited these people are.
On Monday and Tuesday, these so-called representatives have met in Cairo to debate the future of Syria and above all to find common positions, but again, this meeting became a farce and has made clear, that there are mainly struggles of power and the most not only do not care about the Syrian population and their wishes, but also ignore the majority in Syria.
Some would not name it as democratically, but one should have in mind, that it is hard to demand a democratic sense and mind, when the most are only interested in the power struggle or are radical minds, which are mistakenly sold as a serious and a legitimated Syrian opposition in the West.
One might wonder if such a opposition with armed wings would be sold the same way when they fight about power for a European country, while their armed wings destroy the infrastructure of the country, kidnap and torture people, targeted assassinate important people and also, perhaps the most democratic demand, just demand the overthrow of the leadership.
The double standards of European policy have already arrived on the level of the misanthropic standards of the United States. No real surprise, one has just to recall that e.g. the German government is blackmailed by the U.S. administration.
The atmosphere and temper was tense and darned hot at the meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo. For example, at the final declaration on Tuesday, a scuffle took place. Nothing new at such meetings of these external Syrian opposition figures.
What, however, had little attention at the meeting of this external Syrian opposition in Cairo was the final declaration of the Contact Group in Geneva from last weekend. One is also able to say this meeting in Geneva had zero attention in Cairo.
At the meeting in Cairo, these opposition figures have discussed about an overcoming of the differences, but they have never really reached a green branch – the power struggles were too important, like usually.
Furthermore, they have also discussed the support of the terrorist organization “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and also, especially, about the demand for the use of Article VII of the Charter of the UN Security Council (UNSC).
The result of this two-day meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo was announced after heated discussions. The result was not surprising, of course. It stated that only a departure of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the government in Damascus can bring an end to the violence in Syria.
No word about the fact that the support with weapons and money for the armed militias, consisting of Islamists, mercenaries, criminals and other radicals, is also somehow counterproductive for the peace in Syria.
Of course, there was also no word about the fact that a military intervention in Syria would trigger much more violence and would be against the opinion of the majority in Syria. As stated, they never really care about the Syrian population. They never did and they never will. The result of Geneva, to establish a unity government of representatives from government and opposition, was simply ignored.
As long as the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is still in power, and a unity government will have no effect in the opinion of the Islamist council, the “Syrian National Council” (SNC), whose headquarter is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
In addition, it is no secret that such an unity government, based on the result from Geneva, is counterproductive for the real goal(s) of the “Syrian National Council” (SNC), just like the ceasefire was it already for the guys of the “Syrian National Council” (SNC), as well as (of course) for the fighters of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and of the other armed militias in Syria. Such a ceasefire, followed by political debates in order to find a peaceful, political solution for the Syrian crisis, was never a way that was wanted by these sides.
Despite the conference in Geneva and the final results of this conference, the situation about Syria is maneuvered into a dead end. No huge surprise, as already mentioned in the last days, these intentions after the conference in Geneva are doomed to failure, already from the beginning. And one can be sure that some sides know about this.
One the one hand, one has the announcements after the conference in Geneva and the intention to establish a transitional government / unity government for Syria, on the other hand, one has the armed militias within Syria, that have announced even tougher battles after the announcement of the final report from the conference in Geneva.
As long as these armed wings, criminals, mercenaries, and religious fanatics are covered and supported by the external Syrian opposition as well as by the West, NATO, United Nations (UN), Turkey and the U.S. Administration, there will be no peace in Syria; while it does not matter if one demonizes Assad or not.
For the current situation in Syria, the armed fighters of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and all other militias, which have now also started to fight each other, are in charge. Therefore, the West, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Nations (UN) and the United States are also responsible for the violence and bloodshed in Syria, because they support these armed criminals and gangs.
The terrorist organization “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) has refused to take part in any negotiations for a peaceful resolution of the conflicts in Syria, as well as they always have refused, beside the propaganda and the useful lies, to stick to the ceasefire. As said, the six-point plan, the peace plan, of the UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan was and is counterproductive for the real aims of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA). If one wants to fuck up something, just call Kofi Annan.
Whenever rounds of negotiations were on the list, the violence was intensified in Syria and the dubious opposition has always found ways to make the Syrian government responsible for the violence.
Of course, journalists were easy to cheat because a lot also wanted and still want it this way. Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Libya have already proven what one should really think of journalists. Not much. Journalists have harmed the image of their profession so much, that the part of the population, which put their articles always into question, do not know anymore, if they should still laugh about it, or just cry.
The sentence constructions, the content, the contrary passages, the method of copy paste, as well as the use of “activists say” without checking of details, and the emotional track, not to mention the willfully used propaganda, do still harm the reputation of so-called journalists.
Considering the new (but in reality only rehashed) report by the non-independent so-called human rights organization, Human Rights Watch (HRW), it is questionable why this organization misses the human rights violations of the other side, the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and the rest of the armed militias, mercenaries and Islamists.
Even after Human Rights Watch (HRW) had to publish a short report about these human rights violations of the “opposition forces” some time ago. But it seems they willfully have forgotten their own report. Finally, Human Rights Watch (HRW) is not only infiltrated by specific persons from specific sides, but also was already established to serve specific aims under the cover of human rights organizations.
While amnesty international (ai) was established as an independent human rights organization and was infiltrated later, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has always been a biased tool, thus, an useful tool for the American interests. As shown yesterday, when the same story was spread in October last year, the soccer stadiums of the big Syrian cities Aleppo, Damascus, and Latakia were empty, contrary to the reports of mass media.
The supporters and fighters of the “Free Syrian Army” kill those people who are not willing to join their fight; who are neutral, or strengthen the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. They kidnap, torture, rape and kill Syrian soldiers but also normal Syrian women and men.
This is the new kind of democracy and freedom which the West tries to sell to Syria. Would people in Germany, France, Sweden or Britain accept this new kind of democracy and freedom? After all, it does not matter. Their governments support this in order to reach their dubious intentions and questionable goals for Syria.
The fighters of the terrorist organization “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and the other armed militias and armed Islamists demand the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, and want to implement it according to Libyan model; they make no bones about it. A dead Assad is sure better than a livelier Assad. Already months ago, some people of the “Syrian National Council” (SNC) have already confirmed that they would like to see al-Assad dead, just like it has happened with Gaddafi (Qaddafi).
But especially Libya should in general be a horrible example of what is and what has been done in the name of democracy there. On the one hand, the NATO forces have bombed the country, together with the so-called rebels which were unmasked as criminals, mercenaries and Islamists later; on the other hand, Gaddafi was chased and willfully killed at the end.
Gaddafi’s supporters and those, who did not share the interests of the new NATO-backed “rebels”, were killed or disappeared in prisons. To this day, countless people are “regarded” as missing. In Syria, similar patterns are evident for quite some time. But those, who would have the power to do something about it, don`t do it. On the contrary, they are fueling the situation and support the fighters by any means.
The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who said in his last speech, that his country is at war, had absolutely right. As long as the terrorist gangs are on the move through the Syrian villages and cities, the Syrian army has to defend the cities and finally, the Syrian civilians. That is, to be honest, the duty of a regular army, if the police and general security has already failed or has no chance to protect the civilians.
The fact, that the Syrian army has finally thrown away their velvet gloves, is clear. But the era of restraint and amnesties should now be finally over. The longer the situation in Syria remains, the more dangerous it becomes.
To further justify the fight against Assad, new reports, information and lies are disseminated about Syria, the origin is unclear and the content not verified or checked. Just like the sources of the UN report and the report by Human Rights Watch is far away from being underpinned by the use of credible sources.
Yesterday, the headlines said, that 85 Syrian soldiers, including a colonel and several officers, fled to Turkey. It is true that soldiers are deserting and are happy about the money which is provided by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. This use of funds was already stated by the so-called “Friends of Syria”. So, no surprise. But in contrast, it is not true that 60,000 soldiers have reportedly deserted of the regular Syrian army. The amount should still be on a level of 3-5 percent.
The Islamist “Syrian National Council” (SNC), based in Istanbul, has announced these numbers, presumably to encourage the armed militias, religious fanatics and mercenaries in Syria, as well as the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA), to continue their fight.
If they do not begin to focus on the Russian example, and to really show interest to solve the situation in Syria, the West will unleash an avalanche in Syria, which is then no longer able to be stopped.
Syria is a strategically important point and all fight about it. None of the warring sides has the introduction of democracy or the protection of civilians as a primary goal. It is solely a struggle for power and domination of the region, no matter which side will “win”; the Syrian people have already lost.
At least, the situation will not get better for the people in Syria in the short term. In order to underline this, one can just watch the situations in Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt and Tunisia. But wait:
Many of the countries, which were visited by the so-called “Arab spring” last year, and were the focus of the news at this time, are no headlines of the mainstream media any longer. One can hear absolutely nothing in Western media about the situation in some of these countries.
For example, do the Yemenis have their freedom now? Is the fight against the terrorists stopped? Has the United States ended its drone attacks against alleged al-Qaeda cells in Yemen? No news about it – and Yemen is listed here only briefly as an example.
It should be clear what will happen to the Syrians, if the situation will continue to develop this way, and when the NATO criminals still support the fighters in Syria; and try with help of bribes to persuade Syrian soldiers to desert.
As long as the Syrian population is not able to decide on their fate themselves and that internally, there is no better future to be expected for Syria. But no NATO country is interested in this. It is about much more, namely to secure power in the region and the protection of Israel and the weakening of Iran. These are just some examples for the reasons to destabilize Syria and for the attempt to install a puppet regime.
