The body of a Sydney father has been found after he fell from rocks while fishing in Sydney’s south.
The 49-year-old man, from Macquarie Fields in Sydney’s west, was fishing with his son and nephew when he was hit by a wave and fell into the sea at Little Bay, near Port Botany, about 10am on Saturday morning.
Police say both young men dived in a rescue attempt but were unable to retrieve him.
The son managed to clamber back on the rocks while the nephew had to be rescued by police and emergency services.
Both were taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
It’s understood the dead man had not been wearing a lifejacket.
