Sydney model withdraws claims against rocker

A Sydney model who told police she was injured during an altercation with her boyfriend says she will withdraw her allegations against him.

Rhian Paige, 25, took photos of herself showing bruises and scratches on her face and leg after the altercation last Friday at a home in the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove.

The day after the altercation, Ms Paige gave a formal statement to police.

In an interview with ninemsn this afternoon, Ms Paige said the incident began when she “slapped” Mr Williams, and claimed he retaliated by choking her and “slamming” her to the floor.

This evening she said she wished to retract her statement because she believed Mr Williams was acting in self-defence.

Mr Williams acknowledged there had been an altercation but said her claims were “blown out of proportion” and she “self-inflicted those injuries on herself”.

“People who know me know that I’m not guilty of what she says,” he said.

Ms Paige said she had been in a relationship with Mr Williams for two years, and the pair recently travelled together to SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, where Mr Williams’ band played.

The Bondi model said she was planning on moving to America to continue her career, but for the moment her plans were on hold.

A Dead Letter Circus management representative said the claims were untrue.

“We completely deny that anything along those lines happened,” the representative said.
