FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda
How does a society solve problems as challenging as climate change? Or as complicated as creating a sustainable economy? In a few short weeks, South by Southwest Eco (SxSW Eco) will again welcome to Austin, Texas some of the leading thinkers working towards solving these crises.
Last year, prior to the inaugural SxSW Eco, I wrote that it would be great if we could just get all the right people in a room together and have them stay there until they figured out what to do. Easy, right? Of course, things aren’t so simple in the real world, but SxSW Eco was successful in doing what SxSW conferences are known for doing well, which is the serve as a space for sharing, finding and melding inspiring ideas.
This year should be no different, as SxSW Eco has curated a lineup of thought leaders from all corners of the sustainability community.
One of the speakers I’m most excited to see is Annie Leonard, who you may know from the Story of Stuff Project. Having long been a fan of her videos, it was an honor for us to have Leonard on our TreeHugger Live video series and she employs a contagious enthusiasm for solving problems as complex as consumerism, water, e-waste and Cap Trade to name just a few. As the keynote speaker on the final day of the conference, she will surely send attendees off with a fresh dose of enthusiasm for tackling the issues we face.

Another speaker I’m happy to see on the lineup is 350.org co-founder, Bill McKibben. Readers of TreeHugger will likely already know McKibben, but if you don’t, be sure to read some of his guests posts on TreeHugger or his must-read features in Rolling Stone. McKibben is a source of both worrisome facts when he’s explaining the seriousness of the climate crisis, but also a source of inspiration and encouragement when you see him leading a movement of activists outside the White House like he did last year to help slow the progress of the dangerous Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.

The conference will run from Wednesday, October 3 through Friday, October 5 and will be held at the ATT Conference center. TreeHugger will be in attendance again this year and we’d love to meet any TreeHugger readers that attend.
