WAYNE Swan is the first Treasurer and Deputy PM to be thrown out of federal Parliament in 111 years.

Mr Swan was booted out for an hour by Speaker Peter Slipper after he compared Opposition finance spokesman Andrew Robb to Curly from the 1940s comedy act The Three Stooges.

The last time a Treasurer came close to being thrown out was Labor’s Ted Theodore in 1931.

2Mr Swan had been warned by Mr Slipper not to call Tony Abbott, Joe Hockey and Mr Robb the Three Stooges but showed no remorse after being kicked out, saying on Twitter he apologised to Curly.

“Tony Abbott can stick up for billionaires. I’ll stick up for millions of workers getting more retirement savings and small business getting tax cuts any day, and if that means getting booted out then I can live with that,” he said.

Mr Slipper also booted shadow treasurer Mr Hockey.
