In May 2010, model Noemie
Lenoir, 32, with whom Makelele has a child, tried to commit suicide
by consuming alcohol and medication. She was found unconscious near a forest
not far from the footballer’s home at La Celle-Saint-Cloud, west of Paris.
Miss Ojeer told the court that four months after she split up with the 2006
World Cup finalist she visited his home in October 2010 after making
numerous telephone calls in order to collect items belonging to her, worth
an estimated 30,000 euros.
“Claude opened the door. I said ‘I just want to get my clothes, I called
many times’,” she said.
“He pushed me back and I was grabbing him, not to fall on the floor.
Then, he punched me, in my face. I was dizzy.
“I fell on the floor, he went inside and then, he started to close the
gate. I was just in shock.”
Miss Ojeer said she was unable to work for four days following the incident.
Makelele’s lawyer Arnaud Pericard said his client had used “legitimate
defence” during the alleged incident in 2010.
“This woman entered the house without being invited so Mr Makelele
defended himself and he was the one who called the police to prevent Miss
Ojeer from entering. It’s clearly a case of legitimate defence.”
Makelele also lodged a complaint against Ojeer for trespass and violence.
According to her lawyer, Stanislas Panon, this complaint “was not
followed up”.
Sentence will be passed at a Versailles court on September 13.
