A man suspected of stealing three pizzas from a Brisbane delivery driver at knifepoint has been banned from ordering home-delivered take away food.
A Pizza Hut driver was robbed in the front yard of a Carina home last night as he sought to deliver three large pizzas and a bottle of soft drink at around 10.05pm, police said.
The 19-year-old man handed over the pizzas after being threatened but was not injured.
Zachary Green, 21, has been charged with armed robbery after police arrested him a few doors down from the Adelaide St address where the pizzas were delivered.
In the home they found two empty pizza boxes, a soft drink bottle, the phone the order had been made with and the refrigerated leftovers of a Super Supreme pizza.
However, despite the evidence Green’s lawyer Nick Hanly argued the case was weak because the phone used to make the order did not belong to Green and the driver told police he was robbed by a man aged around 40.
The magistrate agreed that the court could not be certain that the man who robbed the driver was Green but still banned him from any contact with the driver as well as any business that offers home-delivered food.
The case was remanded until June 18.
