Awake Goy (NaturalNews) Suppression of the truth regarding vaccine safety was the obvious motive behind the push to prevent the movie VAXXED: From Cover-up to Catastrophe from being screened at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival, but the the ensuing controversy may actually result in a more widespread promotion of the film and its message.
If you’re not yet aware of the story, here are the basics:
Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro is the co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, an annual event which this year will take place in New York City April 13 – 24.
VAXXED: From Cover-up to Catastrophe is a documentary film which exposes the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) involvement in the cover-up regarding the link between vaccines and autism.
De Niro had planned to include VAXXED in the lineup of films – he is the parent of an autistic child and in an initial statement he defended the screening:
Grace and I have a child with autism and we believe it is critical that all of the issues surrounding the causes of autism be openly discussed and examined. In the 15 years since the Tribeca Film Festival was founded, I have never asked for a film to be screened or gotten involved in the programming. However this is very personal to me and my family and I want there to be a discussion, which is why we will be screening VAXXED. I am not personally endorsing the film, nor am I anti-vaccination; I am only providing the opportunity for a conversation around the issue.
One day later, he had completely changed his tune. After apparently caving under pressure from the powerful vaccine industry and its henchmen, he issued another statement:
My intent in screening this film was to provide an opportunity for conversation around an issue that is deeply personal to me and my family. But after reviewing it over the past few days with the Tribeca Film Festival team and others from the scientific community, we do not believe it contributes to or furthers the discussion I had hoped for.
The Festival doesn’t seek to avoid or shy away from controversy. However, we have concerns with certain things in this film that we feel prevent us from presenting it in the Festival program. We have decided to remove it from our schedule.
The removal of VAXXED from the lineup of the Tribeca Film Festival may have backfired in terms of suppressing the film.
Already, there has been more press coverage due to the film’s removal than its actual screening would have likely generated.
A Change.org petition has been launched demanding that the film be shown – in just two days, it has already garnered more than 27,000 signatures.
Others, including many parents of children injured by vaccines, are calling for De Niro’s resignation of his position at the Tribeca Fim Festival, as Natural News founder Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, reported:
Originally hailed as a champion of free speech for his willingness to preview the VAXXED documentary at Tribeca, De Niro is now being widely condemned for turning his back on his own autistic child who was likely vaccine damaged to begin with.
At least one journalist has offered the theory that De Niro knew all along that the film would be pulled and the media backlash would actually serve to promote the film.

Is it possible that De Niro very consciously used the publicity to actually help the film? In other words, could he have known all along that he would be forced to pull VAXXED due to the strong ties of Tribeca Enterprises, which owns the film festival, to the pharmaceutical industry?
It’s an interesting theory and one that, if true, would tend to exonerate De Niro, but one wonders if he is truly that clever?
Either way, it does seem that the entire controversy is focusing more attention to the film in the form of free publicity.
And that’s a good thing…
