We all know that more drilling and fracking in Pennsylvania means more pipelines, LNG facilities, compressor stations, and gas processing plants for the rest of us in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts and beyond. If we want to stop the pipelines, we must work together in solidarity to stop the gas at the wellheads in Pennsylvania. The open public participation of PA’s Pipeline Task Force offers us the opportunity to have our collective voices heard while working together with our friends and neighbors throughout PA who have been fighting the oil and gas invasion of their beautiful state for many years.
Please join us at the task force’s next meeting to send a strong message to the Wolf administration!
BACKGROUND:
115 community-based and environmental organizations signed the letter to PA Governor Wolf that groups delivered at the September meeting of his Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force.
The letter closes “Governor Wolf, your actions have ramifications far beyond your state’s borders. We are calling on you to shut down the Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force immediately, to enact a moratorium on the drilling and fracking in Pennsylvania that is driving the massive proliferation of pipelines, compressors and other infrastructure in other states, help the people of Pennsylvania who are suffering negative health impacts from years of drilling and fracking operations, and lead Pennsylvania in charting a new course to clean and renewable energy.”
Has your organization signed the letter yet? We’ll re-submit it as more groups sign on!
