COP TALK

Cop talk is a local [St. Louis] police blog made up of both current and former law enforcement. While much of their conversation is standard, and they have a first amendment right to say what they want, here’s some of what’s being discussed. We need to keep an eye on:

1) Discussing who the ‘leaders’ of the protest movement are. They have mostly just identified people who are active on twitter and livestreamers. They are actively seeking to post personal and contact info (including driver’s license numbers) of protesters AND THEIR FAMILIES. They posted the location of a protester’s father’s business and urged people to ‘go visit him.’

2) Arranging boycotts of businesses related to protesters.

3) Organizing militias: “we can build an army of old cops who no longer have to worry about law suits.”

4) Gathering information about protester’s jail support phone number and bond money.

5) Discussing the possibility of mass sick call-ins to “de-police” the city, and not respond to calls for help from citizens.

6) Discussing the possibility of arresting protesters that they have been ordered by their superiors not to arrest, in violation of their orders.

7) Discussing the possibility of using unauthorized physical violence against protesters.

8) Alleging that protesters are “not citizens” but are “terrorists.”

9) Generally misinterpreting many, many laws.

10) Making many, many racist remarks.
