C3PO and R2D2 Are Actually Japanese… That Explains So Much
George Lucas has been using the characters from the Star Wars universe to sell all kinds of stuff, but this might be the greenest one yet. C3PO and R2D2 appear in a Japanese ad for the plug-in version of the Prius, which can be plugged in, giving it an electric range of 10 to 15 miles (16 to 24 km), and then it functions like a regular Prius hybrid. This saves a lot of fuel on short trips, and still provides very good fuel economy the rest of the time.
