IRNA — Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that the US should take a lesson from its previous measures against Iran and adopt rational policies towards the Islamic Republic.
According to dispatches, Iran sanctions waiver must be renewed every 120 days and the Obama administration’s last renewal came just before he left office on January 20. Hence, the next waiver would be this week on Wednesday or Thursday.
Analysts predict that the newly-elected US president will renew the periodic sanctions waiver.
Answering a question in a weekly briefing on Monday, the spokesman said that the IAEA has confirmed Iran’s commitment to its obligations on several occasions.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) reached between Iran and G5+1 (US, UK, Russia, China, France plus Germany) is a multilateral agreement, he underlined.
Replying to a question about Turkey program for establishment of wall in the zero line borders with Iran, Qasemi said that Turkish officials have informed us about their plan for constructing the building in depth of their territory.
Iran welcomes any action that helps forge stability in borders with Turkey, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Qasemi elaborated Iran’s stance on Zionist regime oppression of Palestinian prisoners and said that such actions show brutal nature of Zionist regime.
Palestinian prisoners’ protest is a symbol of resistance and such actions would continue till dissolution of Zionist regime, he said.
Qasemi did not acknowledge a report on murder of 20 Iranian tourists in Turkey by attackers, and said that Turkey has a special status and the Iranian tourists should do necessary preparations before trip to the region.
The official referred to recent visit by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Isfahan, and rejected claims that the visit to this region has been for electoral purposes.
