‘Spider bite cannot cause human death’
TOI – The series of reports about spider killing two persons that created panic in Assam make no sense as spider bite cannot cause human death, said Dr GN Vankhade of Indian Society of Arachnology, Amravati. Residents of several villages in Assam, surrounded by dense jungles and Brahmaputra river, spotted spiders about a month ago and claimed that two persons died after being bitten by the giant spider. Sources said that eight other persons were admitted to Sadiya Civil Hospital in Assam after being bitten by spider. Read article
