MORE THAN ten per cent of Australians say they have Irish blood in their veins and with St Patrick’s Day almost here, we want to know just how Irish you really are.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 10.4 per cent of us claimed to have Irish ancestry in the 2011 census – and a third of those also traced their ancestry to at least one other culture. Even US President Barack Obama traces his roots back to the Emerald Isle, so you’re in good company.
With the annual global celebration of Guinness, funny hats and beer froth shaped like a shamrock that is St Patrick’s day nearly upon us, we want to test how much Irish blood runs through your veins.
