Days of Palestine, Jerusalem -Sixteen Palestinian citizens were wounded during Israeli raids of Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem on Thursday night.
Palestinian citizens from the Palestinian village of Al-Euzariyeh and the neighbourhood of Abu-Dis in occupied Jerusalem told Days of Palestine that the Israeli occupation forces raided their homes.
“The destroyed doors of our houses,” the Palestinian citizens said, “and damaged our furniture, stole documents and scared out children.”
Palestinian medical sources said that 16 Palestinian citizens received medical assistance, including four were admitted to hospitals for moderate wounds.
At first, the Israeli occupation forces raided the house of the Palestinian carpenter Ibrahim Ayyad from Abu-Dis. “They broke into my house and dragged me out, asking me to open the door of my carpentry,” Ayyad said.
“When I refused, they beat me and blew the main door of the carpentry, causing much damage,” he said. “A small fire was ignited, but my sons very quickly extinguished it,” he added.
Commenting on the demolition caused for the Palestinian shops, an Israeli army spokesperson reported by Israeli media claimed they were used for producing weapons.
The Palestinian owners of the shops denied this claims and challenged the Israeli occupation forces to provide any proof.
