Local sources say armed masked men riding on a motorbike opened fire on a vehicle near the Saryab road of Quetta. A second person was also wounded in the attack.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Hundreds of Shia Muslims have been killed in various parts of the violence-hit country over the past few months.
Militants have also killed a large group of Shia Muslims in parts of Kurram Agency over the past three years by targeting their buses. Local sources say more than 2,000 Shia Muslims have been killed in the Kurram region since 2007.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Shia leaders have called on the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the crimes.
The recent surge in terrorist attacks against Pakistani Shia civilians has caused international outrage with many rights groups and regional countries, including Iran, condemning the attacks and expressing deep concern over attempts to target unarmed Shia civilians.
