Farhadi’s award-sweeper movie Nader and Simin: A Separation is slated to vie for the Best Non-European Film Prize in Silver Ribbon Film Festival in the Italian city of Sicily.
The acclaimed movie was recently awarded for the Best Foreign Language film at the 2012 David di Donatello Awards, which is considered the Italian equivalent to the Academy Award.
Farhadi’s Nader and Simin: A Separation won the Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards.
The film grabbed the award for the Best Foreign Language film at the 2012 edition of Golden Globes. It also received the 2012 Turkish Film Critics Association Award (SIYAD) in the same category.
A Separation also turned heads, winning the Best Foreign Film Award of the 2012 edition of annual Independent Spirit Awards as well as the 2012 César Awards.
The movie also received Best Picture, Best Film Not in the English Language, Best Ensemble and Best Original Screenplay awards of the 9th International Cinephile Society (ICS).
Farhadi’s family drama has hit the Canadian, Brazilian, American, European movie theaters so far, as scheduled earlier.
The movie also received three top awards of the Best Foreign Language Film, Best Supporting Actress and the Best Screenwriter of the 2012 London Critics’ Circle Awards (LCCA).
The 2012 Silver Ribbon Award Ceremony is slated to be held on June 30 in Sicily.
