School, towers attacked in Pakistan

Local officials told Press TV that unknown militants detonated explosives materials outside the building of the girls’ school in a district in tribal area of northwestern Khyber Agency late on Monday.

The building was partially damaged but no human loss was reported in the incident.

The pro-Taliban militants have destroyed hundreds of schools in different parts of Pakistan in last three years.

In the second incident, unidentified militants blew up at least three 220-KV electricity towers in Mach town of southwestern Balochistan Province Monday night.

The acts of sabotage suspended electricity supply to different parts of the province.

Police and other security forces cordoned off the entire area and started search operation.

Hundreds of electricity towers and gas pipelines have been destroyed in different parts of the province, which has the largest reserves of natural gas and mineral wealth, during the past years.
