Tawfiq Taha, the commander of the fundamentalist Abdullah Azzam brigades, is said to be hiding in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Helwi in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese Army sources said Taha has been involved in several terrorist activities.
He was charged of “setting up an armed gang and conducting training exercises with the aim of carrying out terrorist acts and operations against military establishment.”
Around 80,000 people living in the camp fear that he might use the site as a safe haven and them as human shields.
The Lebanese Army beefed up its presence around the refugee camp to arrest the fugitive.
