A man was hit in the neck with a pellet during an apparent drive-by shooting in Adelaide.

Police say the man received only a minor wound when he was hit by the pellet in Elizabeth Grove, in Adelaide’s north, overnight.

Police said on Friday the incident appeared to be a drive-by shooting and they were still trying to find out what happened.

Neighbours have reported hearing several cars speeding in the area and the sound of gunshots about midnight, police said in a statement.
