Qatar has been known as a major provider of military and monetary aid to extremists in Mali, Libya and also the militants fighting the Syrian government.
A report by France 24 TV channel under the title “Is Qatar fueling the crisis in north Mali?” sheds light on the Saudi and Qatari support for terrorism.
Sadou Diallo, the mayor of the northern Malian city of Gao, says the French government, which is leading the war in the West African country, “knows perfectly well who is supporting these terrorists. Qatar, for example, continues to send so-called aid and food every day to the airports of Gao and Timbuktu.”
“Qatar has an established network of institutions it funds in Mali, including madrassas (religious schools), schools and charities that it has been funding from the 1980s,” the report quoted geopolitical expert Mehdi Lazar as saying.
Lazar noted that the Persian Gulf country hopes its investment in Mali will return huge profits, and said, “Mali has huge oil and gas potential and it needs help developing its infrastructure. Qatar is well placed to help, and could also, on the back of good relations with… Mali, exploit rich gold and uranium deposits in the country.”
Such institutions are present across the world and provide a bottomless and sustainable source to provide militias for the Persian Gulf Arab countries and their Western allies.
Saudi and Qatari geopolitical interests seem closely tied with those of the US and European governments, and such organizations, which are directed by intelligence agencies in Europe and the United States, help Western governments control their people more strongly.
Now the French military intervention in Mali has failed and inflicted a Western occupation on the African nation instead of ending extremism.
Paris along with Qatar and Saudi Arabia played a significant role in bringing the same extremists to power in Libya.
In Pakistan, both Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out the deadly attacks in India’s Mumbai in 2008, are part of the US-Saudi terror network and closely affiliated with al-Qaeda, for whom Saudi Arabia is the cash machine.
Another report by Stanford University confirms Lashkar-e-Jhangvi militants have been receiving support from the Persian Gulf Arab kingdoms, namely Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
But no evidence has managed to stop Washington’s political, economic and military cooperation with the infamous supporters of global terrorism.
The terror activities also spread to the southwestern Pakistani province of Balochistan, whose media — the Voice of Balochistan — is the mouthpiece for US propaganda.
There is also another institution called the Baloch Students Organization, whose headquarters is in Pakistan, but whose coordinators are based in London.
In an article published in February 2011, Selig Harrison, the director of the Asia Program at the US-based Center for International Policy, called for US aid for Baloch separatists, noting that an independent Balochistan would favor Washington’s strategic interests against China’s growing influence in the territory.
In another article issued in March 2011, Harrison repeated his explicit demand for the disintegration of Pakistan.
Experts believe that the West, financially and militarily backed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, is seeking to plunge the Balochistan region into a mire of spiral violence.
