The government plane for Russia’s Deputy Premier Dmitry Rogozin was denied entry through the air space of Ukraine and Romania last week.
Rogozin was on the sanction list of the United States and the European Union for his role in Moscow’s recent annexation of Crimea and territorial aggression in Eastern Ukraine.
After attending the Victory Day Parade on May 8, in the troubled self-proclaimed Republic of Transdniestria, which is pro-Russia, but is claimed by Moldova and not recognized by the United Nations, Rogozin’s plane encountered turbulence from the interim Kiev government.
The plane was denied passage through Ukraine air space to make the transit to Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, forcing him to make a detour through Romania.
