FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “Russia has consistently advocated a political – diplomatic solution to the situation,” Churkin said in an address to a Security Council meeting on the implementation of international sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic on Thursday.
He added that all efforts on Iran’s nuclear energy program “should be based on principles of phasing, reciprocity and in accordance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).”
The Russian diplomat further said that in recent years, the UN Security Council “had not received any incoming reports of Iran’s possible involvement in illegal export of conventional arms.”
Iran has been under various sanctions mostly imposed by the United States over the past three decades since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Part of the sanctions is imposed on the Islamic Republic under the false allegation that Iran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Tehran refutes the allegations over its nuclear energy program and argues that as a signatory to the NPT and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
