IRNA – Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan says Iran has complied with and fully implemented its 2015 nuclear deal with G5+1, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), adding that Moscow is highly critical of the US policies in this regard.
In a meeting with Isfahan Governor General Mohsen Mehralizadeh on Saturday, the Russian ambassador said since taking office US President Donald Trump has always thrown obstacles in the way of JCPOA implementation and even threatened that the US would exist the deal if the European governments did not rectify what he called as faults in the pact.
He, however, reiterated that like the European countries Russia is determined to preserve the nuclear deal and support the stands of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this respect.
The coordination between Iran and Russia in connection with the Syria crisis has served to defeat to a large extent the menace of terrorism and its threats.
Referring to fast growing cooperation between the two countries particularly in the field of economy, the Russian envoy said the 14th session of Iran-Russia joint economic commission is to be held in Moscow from March 5-6 and a large delegation of Iranian traders and economic activists is expected to take part in the meeting.
According to a report by the Russian Embassy in Tehran, the value of trade exchanges between the two countries in 2016 amounted to 2.2 billion dollars a major part of which was related to export of Russian machinery, transportation equipment, foodstuff and metals to Iran.
