Michelle Fields is a reporter for Breitbart News, and earlier this week, she claims that Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, assaulted her at a rally in Florida. On Friday morning, news broke that Fields is filing criminal charges against Lewandowski, but there’s one major problem she’s not considering.
According to the Independent Journal, the Jupiter Police Department confirmed in a statement that Fields did in fact file criminal charges for battery against Lewandowski.
Jupiter, Florida – The Jupiter Police Department is currently investigating an alleged battery that occurred at 115 Eagle Tree Terrace (Trump National) on March 8, 2016. A police report was filed with the Jupiter Police Department on March 11, 2016 at approximately 10:00AM and the investigation is ongoing. As with any investigation, specific details concerning criminal investigative information is not releasable while the investigation is considered active. Any additional details regarding this incident will be released once the investigation has concluded. The initial report, outlining the date, time, location, and nature of the incident will be released today. No additional information regarding this investigation is available at this time.
The incident has sparked fierce debate over whether or not Trump should fire Lewandowski, and many media outlets, including liberal sites such as Think Progress, have all but convicted the campaign manager of assaulting Fields, even though there’s little evidence to support her claim that it was actually Lewandowski. Keep in mind this is also the same reporter who accused Allen West, a decorated war veteran, of sexual assault while the two worked together at PJ Media, then went silent when confronted over the allegations.

Fields’ accusations were backed up by Washington Post reporter and leftist hack Ben Terris, who swears up and down that he specifically watched Lewandowski grab her arm. However, the story doesn’t seem to be adding up.
Now it appears as if Fields’ own place of employment, Breitbart News, is also refuting her claim that it was, in fact, Lewandowski that grabbed her at the event. In a lengthy examination of photos and videos of the incident, reporter Joel Pollak seemingly debunked Fields’ claims, and said that the incident couldn’t have unfolded the way it was originally described by Terris, who immediately came to Fields’ defense.
Contrary to what Donald Trump said Thursday evening after the GOP debate, the incident certainly happened. However, the person who made contact with Fields was likely not Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
As Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson said Thursday on the Fox Business Network, “someone probably did grab her,” i.e. Fields, though Pierson claimed it could not have been Lewandowski.
Audio of the incident, published on Politico, shows Fields asking Terris if the individual who pulled her left arm was, in fact, “Corey.” Terris says it was — an assertion he later repeated in print: “I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager.”
However, Lewandowski was not the only “man with short-cropped hair and a suit” walking near Trump. And he was walking on the opposite side of Trump from Fields, and Terris.
Photos from the event show two men, one of whom is Lewandowski, with short-cropped hair standing next to Trump.
The story went on to say that video shows Lewandowski standing on the opposite side of Trump from Fields. A Short snippet posted to Twitter from Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor shows Lewandowski to the right of Trump from her position.

Another video, posted to YouTube by MSNBC, shows Field’s standing to Trump’s left side as he’s leaving the area with Lewandowski and several Secret Service agents. The camera pans up, and when it returns, fields can be seen suddenly leaning to her left, then Lewandowski walks into the frame, but his distance away from her seems too far to have pulled her arm, considering his proximity to Trump.
But that’s not all.
In her recollection of events, Fields wrote this:
I wasn’t called upon to ask a question during the televised press conference, but afterwards Trump wandered around, stopping at every reporter to take their questions. When he approached me, I asked him about his view on an aspect of affirmative action.
Trump acknowledged the question, but before he could answer I was jolted backwards. Someone had grabbed me tightly by the arm and yanked me down. I almost fell to the ground, but was able to maintain my balance. Nonetheless, I was shaken.
The Washington Post’s Ben Terris immediately remarked that it was Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who aggressively tried to pull me to the ground. I quickly turned around and saw Lewandowski and Trump exiting the building together. No apology. No explanation for why he did this.
But there’s just one problem. Aside from the fact that Lewandowski wasn’t close enough to Fields to grab her arm, he was seen, on video, speaking with Terris right after the alleged incident, and as the video shows, Terris didn’t appear to be confronting him about anything.

Take from all of this whatever you’d like; however, it appears as if Trump and Lewandowski are the ones being victimized in this incident. From what I can tell, there doesn’t appear to be any wrongdoing on either’s behalf, and even Fields’ employer agrees.
