TOKYO – Japanese media reports say a woman who may be the Japanese doomsday cult member wanted in the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attack has been arrested.
NHK TV, Kyodo and other Japanese media reported that former senior AUM Shinrikyo cult member Naoko Kikuchi was arrested on Sunday in Sagamihara city, southwest of Tokyo.
Police said they could not confirm the reports. Media reports say police are checking on her fingerprints to identify the arrested person. The 40-year-old Kikuchi was one of two remaining AUM fugitives.
