As the world gradually moves towards clean and renewable energy like solar, wind, and other sources, “we have also decided to use clean energy in the new school construction projects in the provinces,” said Morteza Raeesi, deputy minister of education and head of the organization for Development, Renovation and Equipping Schools of Iran (DRES).
More than 90% of the organization’s funds will be spent on beefing up school safety and renovation, and 10% will be allocated to construction of new schools, Alef News Agency quoted him as saying.
DERS is affiliated to the Ministry of Education. It was established in 1976 and is in charge of development, renovation and equipping of schools.
