This holiday weekend is the Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th Diamond Jubilee. The Jubilee celebrates 60 years of the Queen’s reign. Her face (and reign) is being commemorated in every imaginable way throughout the U.K.
But the sweetest has to be Dominic Wilcox’s idea. The British designer has nibbled his way through 30 boxes of McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes to build models of British landmarks and icons.
McVitie’s are those irresistible cookies that go so well with tea. They are made of light biscuit, a layer of orange jam and covered with chocolate
This spectacular image of the Queen is made from almost thirty thousand used postage stamps which have been carefully cut and shaped and individually glued to the canvas. It is 10ft. by 16ft. and hangs in a shopping centre. Created by Peter Mason, who calls himself the Post Pop Art Man, it took three months to complete.

Here’s a two-some of the Queen: her younger self and now. It’s part of a triptych depicting the monarch in three stages of life: during her Coronation, Silver Jubilee and the Diamond Jubilee. All made out of recycled materials found in charity shops and garage sales. The artist, Jane Perkins, takes her inspiration from found objects.
Compare that with the Sex Pistols’ vintage record cover from “God Save the Queen”. It was released during Queen Elizabeth’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.
