Witnesses say snipers on rooftops shot a man dead and critically injured his nine-year old daughter in al-Naziheen neighborhood of Homs on Monday as they were walking down the street.
Another teenager was also shot and wounded by terrorist snipers.
Al-Naziheen residents say snipers targeting residential areas have disrupted life in the area in the past ten days and that they have called for the army and security forces to intervene and put an end to terrorist activities there.
“We are always running in the streets and even between rooms in our houses because of terrorists’ snipers shooting at civilians. If you look at my house, you can see bullets there,” said an al-Naziheen resident.
“Snipers are hitting us, everyday more than 100 bullets hit our houses. We hid in the bathroom and kitchen sometimes. We do not dare go out and buy even some bread,” said another resident.
Meanwhile, Syrian authorities have started cleaning Baba Amr district of debris left behind by armed groups and reconstructing the area days after the army pushed out terrorists from the restive area and ended weeks of deadly clashes.
Syrian troops have also removed barricades set up by terrorist groups in the area. The search operation for rebel hideouts and places used as weapon depots still continues.
Syrian authorities have also said that they found an apartment in Jobar neighborhood of Homs which was used by armed men fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to torture civilians.
