He is continuing his IT studies at the University of Verona.
“It’s a choice that I support completely,” Francesco Sollecito told
the Italian
daily, Corriere della Sera.
“He needed to put everything behind him and begin to live again. But his
choice is above all linked to his studies, he needs to complete eight exams
to graduate and attendance for several courses is obligatory.” Lawyer
Luca Mauri, who was part of Mr Sollecito’s legal team in Perugia, appealed
for privacy.
“I hope he is left in peace,” Mr Mauri said. “Raffaele needs
tranquillity to re-establish his equilibrium after the court case and it is
right to guarantee him the privacy entitled to any citizen, given that he
was cleared of the charge of having killed Meredith.” Gino Mariotto, a
physics professor who teaches Mr Sollecito in Verona described him as “intellectually
bright”.
