The once industrial neighbourhood of Poblenou in Barcelona is slowly being transformed into a tech district under the name 22@. It is there that the Radio Nacional de España has its headquarters, in a solar controlled building by architects Ravetllat-Ribas.

According to RTVE, the building saves up to 50% CO2 emissions by controlling the natural light. Interior and exterior screens direct the sunlight inside or out, depending on its intensity, the season and the time of day. Brise Soleil stop the sun from hitting the glass and getting into the building, reducing the use of air conditioning. In addition, each room receives natural daylight, reducing therefore the need for artificial lighting during the day. The project was built in 2007 and has a surface area of 4.513 m2.
