QUEENSLAND’S Building Services Authority (BSA) says a playground equipment company has been fined after installing a dodgy playground in Brisbane’s west.
The BSA says it recently received a complaint that Super Duper Playgrounds installed a playground in Bellbowrie which was considered a safety risk and immediately closed.
BSA General Manager Ian Jennings said the company was fined $30,000 this week for unlicensed contracting.
The BSA has issued a public warning about Super Duper Playgrounds, which it says is continuing to advertise its services for installing and constructing playgrounds, despite being unlicensed.
“The BSA urges consumers, contractors and suppliers to be cautious in their dealings with Super Duper Playgrounds Pty Ltd and to seek legal advice before making commitments or payments,” BSA general manager Ian Jennings said in a statement.
