A Qantas plane has made a precautionary landing in Sydney.
It is believed the 8pm Brisbane-bound flight returned to Sydney shortly after take-off.
The aircraft circled above the city for about 25 minutes before returning to Charles Kingsford Smith Airport.
Firefighters followed the aircraft on the tarmac closely as it taxied in.
A Qantas spokesperson said the plane “returned to Sydney due to a fan blade defect and landed without incident”.
Passengers will be put on a replacement flight due to depart Sydney at 9.50pm.
Qantas engineers will examine the aircraft to determine the cause of the defect, the spokesperson said.
