The President of Russia has signed a governmental law to increase, from 1 January 2016, the minimum wage by 4%, according to the official portal of legal information.
Starting next year, the minimum wage will be 6,204 thousand rubles a month, the current minimum wage being 5,965 rubles.
Raising the minimum wage will affect about 700 thousand employees, 43% of them work in state and municipal institutions, 57% of workers of the economy sector.
The minimum wage is estimated at 53.6% of the predicted value of the subsistence minimum of able-bodied citizens.
