Press TV signals jammed on Hotbird

Interruption of the broadcast of Press TV programs on Hotbird satellite on frequency 12437 MHz began at 11:00 GMT on Saturday and is still ongoing.

Press TV has learned that the cause of the interruption is the presence of a clean carrier on the IRIB package.

In addition to Press TV, the broadcast of other international Iranian channels including Al-Alam, Islamic Republic of Iran News Network and Al-Kowsar have also been interrupted.

This is not the first time IRIB signals have been interrupted in recent months.

On March 10, the broadcast of IRIB international channels on the Hotbird satellite was interrupted for two hours.

On January 19, British technicians operating from Bahrain also sent jamming signals to block IRIB channels on the Hotbird satellite, including provincial channels and a number of international channels such as Press TV, Al-Alam, Al-Kowsar, Jam-e Jam and Sahar.
