FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Yeni Azerbaycan described Press TV’s revelations as baseless, using the justification that Baku has been admired for its role in controlling drug trafficking by the United States.
According to reports, the US praise is not legal because American and Azeri soldiers have been working together to support poppy fields in Afghanistan.
Last week, an informed Iranian security source said detained gang members engaged in drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan confessed to having ties with Baku officials.
The unnamed source added that Iran’s counternarcotics police have arrested and dismantled several major Azeri drug-trafficking rings over the past few weeks.
The Azeri nationals were smuggling drugs such as opium and heroin from Iranian borders to Russia and Europe through the Nagorno-Karabakh territory in Azerbaijan, the source said.
