IRNA – Presidential candidate Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said if he is elected as the next president, he will create five million jobs in his four-year term.
Appearing on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Channel one television station on Thursday evening, Qalibaf noted that he would pay 2,500,000 rials (almost $67) per month to every Iranian youth who looks for job.
He pointed to Iran’s capacities including the natural resources and its young educated people noting that he would do its best to increase people’s income and welfare if he was elected.
As for his promise to create five million jobs in four years, he said according to the 6th development plan, he could create five million job opportunities with the help of people and particular entrepreneurs.
The presidential candidate added that there are four percent of people who do not pay their taxes using their influence and noted that he would not tolerate this trend and would fight unnecessary imports if being elected in the May 19 election.
He underlined improvement of business environment in Iran and criticized import of goods which could be made in the country.
The presidential hopeful said that he would use people power to boom the country’s economy.
Qalibaf said that he would add the amount of subsidiaries paid to people with low-income.
As for his plans in terms of the country’s foreign policy, he said foreign policy should help marketing for Iranian commodities and it should not be at the service of importing commodities made by the foreign corporate.
The official called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) a national obligation that should be respected.
According to Iran’s Interior Ministry’s press release, Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim, Es’haq Jahangiri, Hassan Rouhani, Ebrahim Raeisi, Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, and Mostafa Hashemi-Taba are the six candidates who have been approved to run for the upcoming presidential elections.
The 12th presidential and the 5th City and Village Councils Elections will be simultaneously held nationwide on May 19.
