FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda According to the poll, conducted by the University of Maryland’s Program on International Policy Attitudes and published Tuesday, a majority of Americans have expressed opposition to an Israeli attack against Iranian nuclear facilities, the US daily Los Angeles Times reported.
Moreover, 69% of American respondents stated that the US should pursue the policy of negotiations with Iran, with a large majority adding that such talks should primarily take place through the United Nations Security Council.
According to the poll, the opposition of the Americans to a military strike against Iran were expressed by 79 percent of Democrats, 58 percent of Republicans, and 67 percent of independents.
The United States, the Israeli regime, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear program. Washington and Tel Aviv have also threatened Tehran with the “option” of a military strike against its civilian nuclear facilities.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has every right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Moreover, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reiterated last month that Iran has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons and considers the possession of such arms as a major sin, useless and destructive.
Earlier this week, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad brushed aside persisting US and Israeli mention of military options against the Islamic Republic, emphasizing that such options can remain on the table until they rot.
The IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence indicating that Tehran’s civilian nuclear program has been diverted towards a nuclear weapons production.
This is while the Israeli regime is widely known to possess between 200 and 400 nuclear warheads. Furthermore, Tel Aviv refuses to allow its nuclear facilities to come under international regulatory inspections and rejects any international nuclear regulatory agreements.
