Arson investigators are on their way from Perth to the West Australian south coast to examine a property that burned overnight, killing a teenager.
Police received several reports of an explosion at the Albany suburb of Centennial Park shortly before 10.00pm (WST) on Friday.
The explosion sparked a blaze that tore through a property at Middelton Road and killed an 18-year-old man, believed to be Somali.
A 58-year-old woman received serious burns and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital.
Two girls, aged 14 and 16, and a 19-year-old man were also at the home but suffered only minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman told AAP the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire were still undetermined.
It was too early to say whether the blaze would be treated as suspicious, she said.
