Police have announced a $100,000 reward for information about the death of an Indian man near Mildura, in north-western Victoria, two years ago.

The partially-decomposed body of Pardeep Kumar was found in a ditch at Monak, New South Wales, about one kilometre from the Sturt Highway, in October 2009.

A post mortem found his death was caused by a throat wound.

The 33-year-old labour contractor had been reported missing by concerned work colleagues.

Detectives believe there are people within the community with information who are yet to come forward.
