Police recreate scene of Blue Mtns death

Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in the NSW Blue Mountains have reconstructed the scene.

The remains of Margaret Hills, 60, were discovered by a bushwalker below Echo Point on December 10.

Police believe the 60-year-old met with foul play after she vanished in February 2010.

This week they returned to the Blue Mountains to conduct an incident recreation at the scene in the hope it will jog someone’s memory.

Detective Inspector Michael Bostock said police were still piecing together the circumstances surrounding Ms Hills’ disappearance and death.

“We are hoping that by revisiting her last known locations, we may refresh someone’s memory as to what they saw the evening she disappeared,” Det Insp Bostock said.

“No matter how small or irrelevant the information might seem, it could be the much-needed piece of the puzzle we need to solve this case.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
