The Aurora Police Department has apprehended and identified the suspect in the early Friday Dark Knight shooting as James Holmes, 24, from North Aurora. He was born Dec. 13, 1987.
Twelve people were killed and another 38 wounded when a gunman burst into a cinema in Aurora, Colo., activated some sort of smoke device and started shooting at people.
Police officers found the suspect near a car behind the theater. A gas mask, rifle, handgun and at least another weapon were found there, too.

The suspect’s motives are unknown.
