Police find python in Sydney home



POLICE have seized a one-metre long python and a loaded firearm from a man’s home in western Sydney.


Officers allegedly found the carpet snake, loaded .22 calibre handgun and ammunition while searching the 39-year-old’s Mt Pritchard house on Friday morning.

He was charged with firearm offences and possessing protected fauna, and will face Liverpool Local Court on May 21.

The snake was taken to Featherdale Wildlife Park.
