A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a laser beam was shone at a police helicopter on the Gold Coast on Friday night.
The incident happened around 8pm (AEST) as the chopper was patrolling over Macintosh Island, where the pits for the V8 Supercars are set up each year for the Gold Coast 600 race.
Police say all three crew members were affected by the beam.
Patrols which were called to the area found a group of teenagers, one allegedly carrying a laser pointer and a knife.
The youth, from suburban Ashmore, will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
