Witnesses who saw a Brazilian student in the hours before he died soon after being tasered by police in the Sydney CBD have been asked to contact homicide police.
Roberto Laudisio Curti, 21, died after a confrontation with officers early on Sunday morning, March 18 this year.
Dramatic footage of a shirtless Mr Curti showed police stunning him with a Taser after he had been behaving erratically in a King Street convenience store minutes before police tackled him.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad are investigating all circumstances leading up to his death on behalf of the NSW State Coroner.
“As part of that investigation, they want to speak to any person who saw or interacted with Mr Laudisio Curti in the hours before his death,” police said in a statement.
“In particular, they would like to speak to a number of men who interacted with him on George Street, Sydney, about 5am on Sunday 18 March 2012.”
