Editor’s note: We’ve reported on the Orange County parents fighting to stop pesticide spraying in Orange County California (where I will speak this weekend and leave for in the morning) Now we wonder if this is what is causing the outbreaks. Read on.

Parents at Lake Forest Elementary School (and other nearby schools) want to know what’s causing skin irritation on dozens of students and staff.

Now the Unified School School District says there are reports of “outbreaks” at five other schools in the district, but are not disclosing the name at this time.

The reports of skin irritation began more than two weeks ago, but Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District hasn’t been able to identify the cause << Gee, did they ever wonder if the cause was… (shocker) Them!??

As experts try to determine what is causing a rash-like skin irritation in students and staff members at Lake Forest Elementary School, five more cases have been reported to district members, officials announced during a meeting Wednesday.

“Conducting an investigation, both inside and outside of the property, just looking for a variety of different biting and stinging insects,” Jared Dever, director of communications of Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District said.

Officials placed several different kinds of traps looking for smaller insects such as mites.

Vector control ruled out mosquitoes last week and playing fields at the school were shut down after the first reports, but have now reopened.

After testing the latest samples, vector control could not identify any insect responsible for the irritation.

But it was noted that the samples were taken after the school had a pest control company spray the area.

The Saddleback Valley Unified School District released the following statement, “Out of an extreme abundance of caution, the entire campus will be sprayed again this weekend, both inside and outside classrooms, and all field areas to ensure that all concerns have been addressed.”

Vector control planned to take more samples and said it wasn’t ruling out the possibility that perhaps bugs originated from someone’s home (if it’s bugs at all!)
