The new Perth Arena is set for a gala opening on November 10, after long construction delays and a cost blow-out of nearly $400 million.
Premier Colin Barnett inspected the central city project on Thursday to announce the opening date.
“While this project has had some controversy, particularly over the cost of it, it’s time now to move on,” he told reporters.
“There’s no doubt this is going to be a magnificent facility,” he said.
The multipurpose venue will host Hopman Cup tennis and other sporting events, along with music concerts and other entertainment.
It will seat around 15,000 people and features a retractable roof and state-of-the-art entertainment technology.
