One person is missing after a house fire in Melbourne’s southeast.
Fire crews were called to a single-storey weatherboard home in Booran Road, Caulfield South, just before 3pm (AEST) on Sunday.
A Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) spokeswoman said there had been concerns for two people, one of whom was located, but the second person remained unaccounted for.
“They could be out shopping but it’s taking us a long time to locate this second person, so of course there are concerns,” she told AAP.
The blaze took MFB crews almost an hour to bring under control.
“The fire was through the roof and the windows,” the spokeswoman said.
The house was at risk of collapse and the local council had been informed, she said.
The MFB would remain at the scene throughout Sunday night.
